Record call

Speechpad offers several ways to record a call and then share or transcribe the audio from that call. This is a great way to record conference calls, phone interviews, or diligence calls. Different states have different rules regarding call recording – we’re not lawyers, so please check your local laws to determine eligibility. To be safe, always confirm with the other party that it is OK to record the call.

Record Call Web Service

We have a web service that allows you to easily record a call, and then automatically puts the recorded audio into your Speechpad account. To use the service, click on the “Record a Call” menu button, icon on our home page, or the big green button right here!

The service is a bit confusing but is really very simple. To use record call, enter your phone number in the left text entry box “Number to call you at” and the number you want to call in the box on the right “Number of person to call”. Then press the “Call & Record” button.

The web service will first all your phone and then ask you to press the “1″ key (to verify we did not reach a voicemail system). After you press the “1″ key, the call will be connected to the “Number of person to call” phone number, and the call is now being recorded. If the “Number of person to call” is a conference bridge or requires keypad entry, you can do that once the call is connected. At this point it’s just like you directly dialed the “Number of person to call”, even though our web service made both calls.

You may want to test this before recording the “real” call, but it’s actually very simple. Please give it a try!

After the call is over, the audio from the call will appear in your Speechpad account and you can then share it or have it transcribed, just like any other audio file in your account.

Phone In A Note

Speechpad also offers a service to record an audio note. You do this by simply calling (650) 419-2705 and leaving a message. The audio will appear in your Speechpad account shortly after you hang up. NOTE: you must associate the phone number you are calling from with your Speechpad account either in the Phone In A Note webpage or in the “My Account->Account” section where it says “Your Phone Numbers”. Add your number there, and then we’ll know how to get the audio into your Speechpad account.

You can also use the Phone In A Note service to record phone calls by using 3-way calling. Simply call the Phone-In A Note number and then conference in the other party. The call will be recorded and then put into your Speechpad account shortly after you hang up.

Press this big, green button to create an account and go to the Phone In A Note service.
